| The 1st course Theme: Geography of Kazakhstan Aims: 1. To organize students’ activities for independent application of knowledge in various situations; 2. To develop students’ communicative skills and abilities using various kinds of activities; To enrich the students’ vocabulary; 3. To motivate self – study and pair work; 3. To arose the students’ interest to English. To enlarge the students’ outlook; to bring up patriotism and love for the Motherland; The type of the lesson: mixed. Activities: reading, asking and answering questions, doing exercises , playing games Aids: Cards, tables, pictures, computer, map Interaction: Kazakh, Russian, Kazakhstan railways, Geography The course of the lesson I. Org. moment. The student on duty report. The main task of the lesson II. Warm up III. Ch. up h.t. IV. Presentation: Today at the lesson we’ll speak about Geography of Kazakhstan. New words and phrases: situated, main, copper, gold, iron, lead, nickel, silver, tin, There are many rivers and lakes in Kazakhstan. The four rivers are the main resources of water in the country. They are the Irtish in the east, the Syr-Daria in the southwest, the Ili in the southeast, and the Ural in the northwest of the country. The largest lakes are the Balkhash, the Zaysan, the Ala-Kol, and the Tengiz. The country is rich in mineral resources such as copper, oil, natural gas, gold, iron, lead, nickel, silver, tin, uranium and zinc. Agriculture takes a very important sector in the national economy. The people grow wheat, millet, corn and cotton. b). Look at the table and make up as many sentences as you can.
