Title: Education. Reviewing
Student level: Form 8
Number of students: 12
Goals: to encourage students’ imagination, to develop their speaking and reading skills on the theme, to widen their vocabulary.
Objectives: SWBAT (Students will be able to): make up 10 sentences working in group, use vocabulary in speech on the theme.
Equipment: copies of the text illustration, cards with vocabulary, pictures, slides, computer, English text-book for 8 form by Т.Д.Кузнецова, П.Г. Козлов 2013 г.
Outline of lesson:
1.Warming up: brainstorming on the quotation of famous people
2.Group work. Vocabulary on the theme “Education”
3.Speaking. The work with the text
4.Speaking. Share opinion. Group work.
5.Speaking. Project “Schools in Great Britain”
6.Speaking. Project “Schools of future”
Stages of the lesson
1. Good afternoon, children. How are you today? P1: We are fine. P2, P3, etc…

(1. Students read, pay attention to the pronunciation.

3. T: The first task is Lexics. Divide words into groups- Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives. (Material #1)
T: The second task is – Guess the words. Give one word.

The text “The best years of our life” 4.T asks Sts to read the text about two different school situation and decide what the children have to do or don’t have to do (Material #3)

3.combine all possible characteristics
4. draw or make the project in any of the following forms – a scheme, a collage, a poster, a booklet etc..
5. present your project to the class

1.“Here in Japan we work hard. Examinations are very important here and we have to study after school for about two hours at a “juku”, a special school which prepares us for exams. Then we go home and have to do our school homework. But we also have to find time for sports and music and martial arts. In my school we have to tidy our classrooms every day and clean the whole school once a month. This teachers us to work together as a team.”

2.“I live in the middle of Australia and there isn’t a school near my house. So I study by radio and use the Internet. A teacher sometimes visits us too. I’ve got a brother and a sister and we do a lot of work together. We do projects and talk to other kids because we use the Internet. We have a web- camera so we can see science experiments. But we don’t have to sit in the classrooms or keep quiet! We have to organize things, which does us good. I’ll go to boarding school in two years‘ time and I’m looking forward to spending more time with other kids.” Danny, Australia
