Numbers 1-10 Receptive language: What’s the magic word? Clap your hands Stamp your feet Materials: Donald Duck puppet Flashcard 1-5, CD- ROM, Recorder, active board Warm-up: Sing the Hello song. Recording 2. English Adventure. Hello, I’m (name) (pupils greet each other) - How are you today? - Are you happy? Are you sad? - Ok. You’re fine! Presentation: • Use the Donald Duck puppet to ask: What’s the magic word? Pupils guess what the theme of the unit is (My family) • Point to his dad. Point to his sisters. Point his brothers. • Listen a chant about Scamp’s family. I. Chant. My mum, my dad My sisters and my brother My mum, my dad My sisters and my brother This is my family This is my family (chant is repeated twice) I. Practice- number chant. Recording 12. English Adventure. • Play chant. Pupils listen and clap their hands to the rhythm. One (clap) Two (clap, clap) Three (clap, clap, clap) Four (clap, clap, clap, clap) Five (clap, clap, clap, clap, clap) One, two, three, four, five. II. Act it out. A) 4 pupils come to the front of the class; give them each one a family role: mum, dad, sister, brother; he/she say hello if hear his/her name mentioned; What’s missing? (attach the flashcards on the board and play a game; pupils open their eyes and says: Dad.etc.) III. A mime game. Choose a character and mime what he/she is doing. For example, mime eating sandwich. Who am I?- Yes. I’m a sister. V. Listen. Recording 12. English Adventure. 1. (snoring)Who is it? (pause) Yes. It’s my granny. 2. (ball bouncing) Who is it? (pause) Yes. It’s my dad. 3. (book pages flicking) Who is it? (pause) Yes. It’s my grandad. 4. (litter dropping into bin) Who is it? (pause) Yes. It’s my brother. 5. (eating sounds) Who is it? (pause) Yes. It’s my mum. VI. Sing. PB page 12-13. English Adventure. This is my home and my family… VII. Listen to the story. Recording 14. PB page 14. English Adventure. Play the story and encourage pupils follow it in their books. Pointing to the story frames as they listen. VIII. Ending the lesson • Use the Donald Duck puppet to play Donald says. End the game, saying Donald says goodbye! • Sing the Goodbye song and dismiss the class Clap your hands Stamp your feet Jump up high Ok! Good bye, good bye See you again!
