Grammar Lesson aim: Grammar Lesson targets: practice structure “Where is…?” and prepositions: in , on, under in speech Words: castle, kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, crown, table, stairs Key structures: Where is…? It’s in, on, under Preparation: picture cards, make word cards, a hat and a crown SMART AIM: learn 8 words and 3 prepositions, use structure “Where is…?” and prepositions in , on, under in speech 1. Warm –up Greeting. 2. Introducing new words and grammar. - Introducing new words. (P1-P2 listen and repeat. Match the cards with the rooms. Etc) - Look at the interactive board and read Bodkin’s bubble. Class repeats. Ask the question. Class answers. - Children look at the first picture. Ask Where is the crown? Elicit It’s in the living room. Class repeats. Continue with the other picture. 3. Give practice as a class game. (Ask and answer) 4. PTR activity. 5. Introducing using of prepositions: in, on, under. 6. Speaking (Ex2. Point and say) - Children look at the pictures. Ask three children to read three speech bubbles. Children look at the first picture and help a child to form a correct statement. Class repeats. Do the same with the other pictures. - Game “ Where is the …?” 7. Reading -writing. (Finish the sentences) WB page 64 - Ex1. Children look at the pictures. They read the sentence beginnings and complete each one using in the and the word from the box. - Ex 2. Children look at the pictures and read the gapped sentences. They choose the correct preposition from the box to complete each sentence. 8. Song. (On prepositions) 9. Feedback. Teacher gives each child a sheet of paper with two tasks for checking up if the Smart Aim has reached. -Ex 1. Draw lines (Rooms in the house) - Ex 2. Look at the pictures and write the number (1-5) (Prepositions) 10. Homework. (PB 78,WB 64 + new words). 11. Evaluation and reflection. | |
