We will learn about the way people congratulate each other, what words they say on this occasions. Our topic is 2. I want you to be in 2 groups. Children take papers of red and green at random to be in two teams. 3.1sttask : (1 person of each group) - Make as many words as you can from the word Celebration.The group tries to read the Holiday Jazz Chat in interpretation. Groups get the score. 2nd task: I have the paper s with the description of different celebrations. Each student takes the task , reads and guesses the name of it. 1. It is a day when a newborn baby appears in a family. ( day of birth) 2. It is the happiest day in the life of two loving people. (wedding day) 3. It is a day when a person stops working. (retirement) 4. It is the most favorite winter holiday for children with presents. ( New Year) 5. It is a national spring holiday in Kazakhstan. (Nauryz) 6. It is a day when a person becomes 1 year older.( birthday) 7. It is a day when a person gets a prize. ( winning an award) 8. It is a day when children are again at school after summer holidays. ( back at school) 3rd task: Who knows the key vocabulary better? Do the matching. Comment each group work. 5th task: So many people, so many customs. Look at the different countries celebrations. Match the name of the holiday and the country. Think over ,choose one person who will give the answer. 6th task; Make the project .Each group gets 6 pictures and 9 cut stripes of stories of three particular celebrations. Each group is to choose the picture, collect and stick the stripes to have the story of the celebration.. They are three in each group . Listen to each other. The Chinese New Year or spring Festival falls between21st January and 20th February. Most people know about the dragon dance, where people dance under an enormous paper dragon. There are also a lot of fireworks. Children in Mexico celebrate birthday with a game. They wear blindfolds so they can’t see and try to break apiñata ,which they make of paper .It often looks like an animal. Inside there are sweets or presents. People in Sweden wear national dress and flowers. They celebrate Midsummer Day on 24th of June. They dance around a pole which they cover in leaves and flowers. This “maypole” was brought to Sweden by Germans. The Notting Hill Carnival in London is one of the biggest street carnivals in Europe. It was started by people who came to London from the Caribbean. It is in August and it’s a wonderful weekend. People wear fancy costumes and there are parades, dancing and music. Children’s Day in Turkey ( on April 23rd) was started by Ataturk. He was the founder of the Turkish Republic. Children from all over the country come together to join in the celebration. They wear national costumes ,sing, dance and play music. Australia Day celebrates the arrival of the 1st settlers from Britain on the 26th January .I t is summer in Australia in January and it is very hot.
