| Interesting geography. Занимательная география. Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку в 8 классе. Цели и задачи: повторить и обобщить пройденный материал в неформальной обстановке; развитие языковых и творческих способностей обучающихся; развитие речевой культуры и культуры общения; формирование положительной мотивации учения. Оснащение: кубик, карточки, картинки с цифрами. Введение. В игре принимают участие 2 команды. Это могут быть команды из одного или параллельных классов. Учащиеся по очереди бросают кубик, выполняя задания. Оригинальность данного мероприятия в том, что никто не знает, что будет дальше. Единственное, что у ребят есть – это ручки и чистые листы бумаги. Good day, dear pupils! You see the pictures and the numbers on the blackboard. What numbers do you see? 1-6. How do you think why? We see 6 numbers, may be we’ll do 6 tasks. Yes, you are right, we see 6 numbers as there’ll be 6 tasks. I have a brick, it also has 6 numbers and the teams should throw it to do the tasks. But what is the theme of our game? British Museum ( 1 –the,2- ---, 3- the, 4- ----, 5- ---, 6-the, 7-the, 8-----, 9 the, 10-the ) Again ,the tasks for our guests. You should listen to very attentively and try to guess what it is. 1. It’s the heart of London. Numbers of banks, offices, firms are situated there. It’s a market for goods from all parts of the world. ( City.) 2. It’s the poorest part of London, there are a lot of factories and docks there.The port of London is also there. ( The East End) 3. The country is situated in the Central Asia. It’s the largest state there. The population is about 16.000.000. The climate of the country is strongly continental. ( Kazakhstan.) 4. It consists of 4 parts, lies on the British Isles. 2 main islands are separated from the continent by the English Channel and the Strait of Dover. (Gr.Britain) We have one more task. Group up the words: Geography. Travelling School life Language, soil, dancing, coach tour, education, mountains, rivers, trainers, knowledge, blackboard, timetable, by car, Tickets, discovery, village, seven- string instrument, have a rest, literature, hiking, playing chess, the Stock Exchange, China, hut, capital. Task № 3 “Countries” You should read the names of the countries, find the capitals and tell where they are situated . You should also read the text and find irregular verbs (went, had, was, get, said, wake, forget, came, saw, was, took, wrote, left, woke, saw, said, is, get). Now, please find adjectives (polite, Japanese ,old); Find compound words (Englishman) Task № 4 “ Correct the mistakes” You should find and correct the mistakes: 1. Russia is largest country on Earth. 2. The scientist was awarded Nobel Prize. 3. Before that Russia was one of republics of USSR. 4. Its nearly twice the size of USA. 5. Nearly 150 millions people live in Russia. 6. Volga is longest river in Europe. 7. The Mount Elbrus is in Caucasus. 8. Almost 10 per cents of Russia is tundra. 9. There aren' t nо trees in desert. 10. Russia has always played а important role in the world. (1- the largest , the Earth, 2 - by Nobel, 3- the republics , the USSR , 4- 2 size , the USA, 5- about million, 6- the Volga, the longest, 7 – Mount, the Caucasus, 8- the tundra, 9- a) aren' t any trees; b) are no trees, the desert ,10- an important .) Task № 5 “Holidays” Make up a story about the Holiday , using the words. ( a) on the 25th of December, fur-trees, colored paper, candles , Santa Claus, stockings. a) on the 22th of March, the New Year, ornaments, rugs, blankets, a sheep’s head, have tea.) The tasks for our guests. Write the numbers in figures: а) three hundred and seventy five; 375 b) eight hundred and оnе; 801 с) thirteen thousand three hundred; 13,300 d) nine hundred and seventy-three; 973 е )twelve thousand оnе hundred; 12,100 f) seven hundred and twenty-five; 725 g) forty thousand five hundred; 40,500 h) оnе thousand оnе hundred.and two; 1,102 i) five hundred and thirty-three; 533 j) two thousand two hundred and nine; 2,209 Task № 6 “ Plants” Tell please what British and Kazakh people grow. (British people grow wheat, fruits, vegetables, oats. Kazakh people grow millet, corn, cotton, wheat, fruits, vegetables.) Good reading of the poem, all the members of the team must read the poem. If all the seas were one sea, What a great sea that would be! And if all the trees were one tree, What a great tree that would be! And if all the axes were one axe, What a great axe that would be! And if all the men were one man, What a great man he would be! And if the great man took the great axe, And cut down the great tree, And let it fall into the great sea, What a splish-splash that would be! All the tasks have done, let’s listen to our jury.
