Form:8A Theme: Speaking about countries. (Говорим о странах) Aims: - Закрепить знания учащихся о названиях стран и языках, формировать умения по применению слов на практике. - Развивать навыки устной и письменной речи, логическое мышление. - Воспитывать интерес к изучаемому языку, расширить кругозор учащихся. Content. I. Organizational moment. - Good afternoon, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. How are you today? -What day is it today? - Today is Tuesday. - What date is it today? - The 7th of February. - What weather is it today? - It is….(cold, sunny, windy) Body of the lesson. II. Introduction of the theme of the lesson. - I want you look at the blackboard; here we have many words. What are these? What do these words mean? - Names of countries and languages. - Today, we will speak about different countries and languages. In addition, we have two words: Asia and Europe. These are continents. Today, we will work in-group. First, I should divide you into 2 groups. I suggest you to play one game “Find a partner” III. Game “Find a partner” - I have cards: some cards are with name of countries and other with name of continents. You will choose one card and your task is find your partner: if you have country you should find language, if you have language you should find country. In addition, you should decide what continent is this. Please stand up and find a partner. Asia Europe Kazakhstan-Kazakh Great Britain- English Japan-Japanese France- French China-Chinese Germany-German - And we have tow teams “Asia” and “Europe”. IV. Work in-groups - Before we begin to work in-group, I suggest you to listen to one song. In this song one word is spoken in many languages, you should understand what word and what languages.(listening 2 times) Word: Hello Languages: English, German, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Jewish, Russian. 1 task. Correct the mistakes. - Now, you will get cards with sentences about different countries, but there are some mistakes, they are false, you should find these mistakes and correct them. If you correct one sentence, raise your hand and tell us true sentence. 1. Great Britain is in Asia. Its capital is Paris. (Europe, London) 2. Japan is in Asia. Its capital is Peking. (Tokyo) 3. The capital of the USA is Washington. (true) 4. Kazakhstan is in Asia. Its capital is Almaty. (Astana) 5. French men live in Spain. Their capital is Paris. (France) 6. Canada is in Africa. Its capital is Ottawa. (In America) 2 task. - Now, you should imagine what you live in another country. You group should choose one country and you should tell us about this country. These questions will help you: 1. What country do you live? 2. Where is your country? 3. What is the capital of your country? 4. What language do people speak in your country? 5. What is the weather\climate in you country? 3 task. - We have crossword, and you should find words in this crossword. There are five words here.
