"From the history of London"

Organization moment: 1. Greeting 2. Setting the aim II. Competition Competition 1: Each team introduces his team Team 1 "Beefeaters" Team 2 " The life Guards" Competition 2: Oral Drill: Each team is asked questions about the history from London Team 1 "Beefeaters" 1. When did London Begin? 2. Who were the first people in London? 3. What is the oldest building in London? Who built it? 4. How many people lived in London by 1600? 5. What was the Tower of London in the past? 6. What is the greatest English church? Who built it and when? 7. Where do the kings live now in London? 8. Where is Big Ben situated? Team 2 'The Life Guards" 1. What is a symbol of the country history and its traditions? 2. Does the Queen rule the country? 3. What did Britain and the former colonies found in 1949? 4. What countries were included into the British Empire at the beginning of the century? 5. Who lives in Buckingham palace? 6. Who built St. Paul's Cathedral? 7. What is the House of Lords' role in Great Britain? 8. Who rules the United Kingdom of Great Britain? Competition 3: Singing an old British song Team 1 "Beefeaters" The song "For auld lang syne" Should old acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind?
