The aims: 1. To systematize and consolidate all previous materials. 2. To develop pupils’ oral and written communication skills and habits; to improve their pronunciation and translation skills; to motivate group work. 3. To bring up feeling of friendship and respect to each other; to arouse pupils’ interest to the foreign language. Visual aids: computer, interactive board, cards, posters. Procedure of the lesson I. Organization moment a) Greeting b) Introducing of the game rules II. “Find the letter” The teacher names the letters of the alphabet and pupils must show the right card. You must find the missing letters. A C D E F G H J K L M N P Q R T U V X Y Z (key: B, I, O, S, W) IV. “Find the pair” - I have a serious problem, children. All the letters in my bag are mixed. Help me to put them in pairs: big and small. A s n F t R c w G r V S W f a C T N g v V. “Alphabetical order” Put the words in the alphabetical order. 1) holiday 2) apple 3) work 4) last 5) orange 6) end 7) jam 8) union 9) vase 10) present 11) chocolate 12) bed 13) kiss 14) dear 15) garden 16) mother 17) right 18) xylophone 19) send 20) flower 21) table 22) you 23) name 24) ice 25) queen 26) zoo Key: apple, bed, chocolate, dear, end, flower, garden, holiday, ice, jam, kiss, last, mother, name, orange, present, queen, right, send, table, union, vase, work, xylophone, you, zoo. VI. Dialogue Each team act out the dialogues: “Meeting” and “Introduction” 1) – Hi, what’s your name? - Hi, I’m Colin. And what’s your name? - My name is Dana. - Nice to meet you. - Nice to meet you, too. 2) – Hi, Asel! - Hi, Jane. How are you? - I am all right. And you? - Fine, thanks. - Bye. - See you soon. - VII. Surprise Each team chooses three envelopes and do tasks. 1. Alphabet 2. Read these words: London, Kazakhstan, name, seven 3. Introduce you to classmates 4. Count from 1 to 10 5. Translate the sentences into English. 6. Introduce your friends VIII. Poems and songs In this stage pupils recites poems and sing songs. 1. Spring is green Summer is bright Autumn is yellow Winter is white. 2. Good night, Father, Good night, Mother Kiss your little son. Good night, sister Good night, brother Good night everyone! IX. Conclusion You are very smart and bright. You know everything. I am very sorry but it’s time to finish our holiday. And let’s do it with a merry song about English alphabet. It is our final game. I hope you enjoyed the holiday and now it’s time to listen to your results (all the pupils are given certificates and medals). Thank you very much for the holiday. Good bye! | |
