Effective utilization of ICTs in design activity of pupils at English lessons

In recent years the question of application of new information technologies at school is even more often brought up. It not only modern technical means, but also new forms and methods of teaching, new approach to training process. Use of multimedia tutorials helps to realize the personal focused approach in training, provides an individualization and differentiation of training taking into account features of children, their level of proficiency, tendencies. Application of ICT at lessons of English is the main sign of positive results of creative activity that involves increase of motivation of pupils.
Relevance: application of ICT at English lessons at creation of projects provides search of new means upon transition from traditional to innovative education and is especially actual that use of ICT recovers educational process, opens great opportunities for expansion of an educational framework, undoubtedly, bears in itself huge motivational material and promotes the principles of an individualization of training in a foreign language.
Research objective: increase of productivity of training in English through use of ICT in design activity of pupils.
The purpose demanded the solution of a number of tasks:
1. To give theoretical justification of a design technique of training in foreign languages in the context of ICT on the basis of the analysis of scientific-theoretical literature on this problem.
2. To investigate and prove technology of use of a design technique when training English.
3. To continue development of language competence through mastering new language means.
4. To create conditions for development of communicative competence through improvement of skills of speaking, reading, the letter of pupils.
5. To improve educational - informative competence through design activity of pupils.
6. To analyse own experience of use of a design technique in system of educational and nonlearning occupations, to reveal efficiency of design training as new pedagogical technology in an education system.
Problems:
- creation of a situation of an anticipation of future result of knowledge as necessary condition in the course of formation of system of the knowledge and abilities which are trained on English;
- obligatory (voluntary) inclusion trained in process of knowledge and active participation in it at the success level, maximum for each child;
- difference of the emotional sphere of school students at perception them a training material;
- ensuring transfer of educational cognitive activity to productive and creative level.
Object of research: the educational (teaching and educational) process focused on formation of communicative competences.
Object of research: use of ICT in design activity of pupils.
The expected results:
- increase of the language competences which are trained;
- formation of steady motivation of knowledge trained at English lessons in system of innovative training;
- increase of independence of school students in training;
- improvement of quality of training on English, development of inquisitiveness and creative activity;
Important aspect of use of ICT at lessons of English is design activity. In our understanding the project is the creative activity of the school student corresponding to his physiological and intellectual opportunities taking into account requirements imposed by state standard.
The purpose of projects - to promote formation of system of the knowledge and abilities embodied in a final intellectual product; to promote independence, ability logically to think, see problems and to make decisions, to receive and use information, to be engaged in planning, to develop literacy and many other things.
The method of projects was always interesting to pupils, but with the advent of multimedia installation they had an opportunity to represent the works in more various form. This form of work creates favorable conditions for development of pupils as independent, creative person. For creation of presentation work as the pupil it is necessary to find the necessary material, using various information sources, including the Internet. This type of work also teaches ability correctly to select material and to be guided in a flow of information. Creation of the project in the form of presentation gives the chance to choose and investigate the chosen subject, to show and develop thus creative abilities and independence. It should be noted that pupils with a great interest treat creation of presentation project works.
I consider that the most effective technology of training in a foreign language is the project method, i.e. such organization of training at which pupils acquire knowledge in creative process of planning and independent performance of practical tasks. The design method in school education is considered as a certain alternative to cool and fixed system. It is aware of a foreign language a method of the project it can be used within program material practically on any subject as selection of subject is made taking into account the practical importance for the pupil (the person and his environment "My school", "My country" "My city", etc.). Each project corresponds to a certain subject of oral speech.
The main requirements to use of a method of projects it is possible to call the following:
existence of the significant problem in the research, creative plan demanding research search for its decision;
practical, theoretical importance of estimated results;
independent (individual, pair, group) activity of pupils;
structuring substantial part of the project (indication of stage-by-stage results).

So, I Want to share experience over the applied project at an English lesson for example, in the 9th class at the solution of test tasks on preparation for PGK pupils face the grammatical subject "Phrasal verbs" which is not widely studied в a school course that causes difficulty at the decision therefore it was offered to children to execute the project on this subject that caused a great interest. They decided to create the electronic manual "Phrasal Verbs". The project was conceived in the context of intercultural education and carried out by pupils of the 9th class. The common problem was offered, and ourselves defined those its aspects which seemed the most actual. Work on implementation of the project was carried out in logic and according to structure of the applied project. Result of which performance at city scientific and practical conference is.
Work on the project included some stages. At the first stage the contents and character of the project, a way of collecting necessary information were discussed. Microgroups taking into account interests and compatibility of partners, level of proficiency in language, creative abilities were created. There was a division on groups, be distributed tasks, the hypothesis was made.
At the second stage work on implementation of the project was carried out. The following tasks were set for children:
- to take the necessary information from the offered grammatical material and to use the received data in work;
- to learn to communicate with partners;
- to learn to create multimedia presentations;
- to learn to make exercises;
- to learn to make test tasks.
Practical activities of pupils consisted in the following:
- creation of a collection of presentations on a subject of" Phrasal Verbs";
- creation of projects of" Phrasal Verbs";
- creation of a workbook;
- drawing up exercises and test tasks.
Especially it is necessary to tell about consultation at creation of multimedia presentation for each group of pupils, possibilities of the presentation and its registration are most extensive. Working on the project, pupils independently learn to get necessary information, to use reference books. The teacher becomes their equal partner and the consultant.
The sequence of display and the logician of creation of presentation depend on the content of the studied material.
It is desirable not to overload slides with the text. It is better to place short theses, dates, names, terms. The most important material demanding obligatory assimilation is better to allocate more brightly, more originally for inclusion of an associative visual memory.
It is possible to include schemes in presentation, tables, charts. The fragments of slides of presentation used earlier, it is possible to rearrange for the purpose of carrying out comparison or the analysis.
Proved as the most productive presentation in whom after an explanation or presentation of material, fixing or control exercises are inserted.
Selection of material for presentation has to correspond to the principles of scientific character, availability, presentation.
It should be noted that pupils also carry out multimedia presentations with a great interest. It is one more incentive to development of interest of pupils in studying of language and culture of the country of the learned language.
Protection of the project is very responsible stage of work. All collected material needs to be presented brightly and emotionally. Pupils know that the project has to meet the following requirements:
- relevance of the chosen subject and the declared problem;
- novelty, informational content;
- practical value for people around.
Analyzing the practical experience of development of projects given above, it is possible to draw a conclusion that use of a method of projects in the course of education of pupils means of English integrated school students on various Wednesdays: social, language, etc., pupils were included in practical activities and aimed at receiving real result.
I don't claim that the project work will help the solution of all problems with training, but it promotes development of pupils, understanding of as member of group, to expansion of language knowledge, increases motivation to studying of a subject, improves quality of knowledge. Application of ICT in the course of training in English promotes intellectual creative development of pupils.
