Teacher: And now let’s read and translate the text about Buckingham Palace. Be very attentive because after reading you should answer the questions.
Text.
Buckingham Palace was built in 1703 in the centre of London. Buckingham Palace is two places, not one. It is a family house, where children play and grow up. It is also the place where presidents and kings of different countries come to meet the Queen. Now, the Queen of Great Britain is Queen Elizabeth II.
The palace is really big. It has 600 rooms, 3 miles of red carpet and 300 clocks. The Queen’s day has many ceremonies. When the Queen gets up in the morning, 7 people look after her. One prepares her bath, one prepares her clothes and one looks after her dogs. The Queen has 8 or 9 dogs and they all live in their own bedroom. Every Tuesday evening the Queen meets the Prime Minister. They talk about the news and have a drink.
1. When was Buckingham Palace built?
2. Buckingham Palace is two places, not one. Why?
3. Is it big? Why do you think so?
4. Are there a lot of clocks in the palace?
5. How many dogs does the Queen have?
6. Who does the Queen meet every Tuesday?
Teacher: And now let’s watch the video film about Buckingham palace.
(watching the video)
I like it very much.
We don’t say to you: “Прощай!”
But we tell you: “Good bye!”
Teacher: Well, children, our London sightseeing tour is over. Do you like it? And now let’s go home.

(под звуки самолета учащиеся возвращаются в Казахстан)

5. Conclusion.
Teacher: I am happy to be home again because “East or West Home is best!” (под звук домбры). All of you dream of visiting London and let’s hope that some day our dream will come true and we’ll see one of the greatest cities in the world. Today you work hard and have only good marks. At home you should revise all lexical and grammar material and prepare for the test. Thank you for the lesson, good-bye!
