Aims: Students will be able to talk about food and describe food in more detail.

b) developing: develop reading, listening, writing and speaking skills and abilities;
c) up-bringing: to teach pupils to work in pairs or groups, respect each other and listen to each other attentively and carefully;

Plan TIME
I. Introduction
a) Greeting Good morning! How are you?
b) Classroom expressions what’s the weather? who’s absent?
c) Warm-up:
“Brain gym.” Try to remember as more English words as possible. Then write them down. I’ll give you 1 minute for it.
Check your neighbor’s work. Evaluate it, please.

II. Main stage
Presentation
1.Do you know that potatoes comes from South America and cucumber comes from India? I hope this information will be usefull for you. Read it, please. Read the text and answer my questions.

Oranges are native to southern China where they have been cultivated for approximately 4,000 years. In fact, the oldest Oriental literature includes stories about these fruits. Arab traders in Asia carried oranges to eastern Africa and the Middle East.
South America is the home of the tomato, a fruit that is commonly called a vegetable. Indians grew it for food in prehistoric times. Migrations carried it to Mexico more than 3,000 years ago. The Spaniards introduced the tomato to Europe in the 16th century. It was first grown in Italy about 1550.
Head, or flower, vegetables,such as broccoli, cauliflower are grown for their flower heads or buds. Broccoli bears dense green clusters of flower buds. Broccoli is native to the eastern Mediterranean and is cultivated in Italy, England, and the United States.

3. Is tomato a fruit or a vegetable?
4. What country was tomato first grown?
5. What vegetables are grown for their heads?
6. Where is broccoli cultivated?

2. This word-association game is for you. What do you think of when you hear the word Danish? Danish bacon? Danish butter? Danish cheese? Match the food with the nationality and with the picture.

3. How do you think our national Kazakh food is popular abroad ? Kazakh cuisine traditionally revolves around mutton and horse meat and as well as various milk products . The cooking techniques and major ingredients have been strongly influenced
by the nation's nomadic way of life. For example, most cooking techniques are aimed at long-term preservation of food .
Let’s play a game which is called “An explanatory dictionary”. We’ll check how you know Kazakh definitions of national cuisine. Come to the blackboard and take a piece of paper, then read it. The other pupils try to guess.

Read out the question. Try to find out the answer. Do this work with your neighbour.
Then I will play the recording. Students listen and check their answers.


5. Testing smells. A small laboratory work. I have 8 tubes on your tray. You should guess what product is in each tube and fill up the table. I want you to divide into two groups.Then you should explain your results and we will check.
Words and expressions: It smells/ tastes good, bad, nice, lovely, nasty, fresh,bland, tender,It smells of, Do you like, awful, delicious. Smell this. I can’t smell anything. It smells like stale fish. Does it? Yes, It’s quite a strong smell. You must have a very sensitive nose. You must have a keen sense of smell.
6. Let's do this Interview Work in pairs and write down your answers.

How often do you cook?
How often do you eat healthy food?
How often do you eat unhealthy food?
What food do you like?

III. Conclusion
a) Feedback Which activities did you enjoy most? Which activities did you have problems with?
b) Home work: New words. Make a list of your ideas for healthier life.
