| Theme of the lesson: Holidays • Aims: • To teach the pupils to talk about the theme • To discuss some questions concerning the topic • To develop skills of writing, listening, speaking and reading • To develop cultural habits, manners and behavior • To bring up respect to the cultures of Britain and Kazahstan Aids: cards, book, active board Course of the lesson 1. Org.moment. Good afternoon boys and girls! Who’s on duty today? What date is it today? What was your h/w? 2. Check up the h/w. To learn poem 3. Our new theme ‘Holidays’. So, every country and nation has their own traditions and customs.It’s very important to know traditions and customs of different people, especially if we want to know their l-ge. We can’t say : We know English , if we don’t know English traditions. Besides, they are very important in the life English people. They are proud of their traditions anf keep them up carefully.That’s why we’re going to know more about British holidays. - New words - Warming up You know that people like to celebrate holidays all over the world. Nowadays different people , celebrate different holidays. - What about your families? - What holiday do your families prefer? - What religious holidays do you know? - As we know there are several holidays in the year. And, now the first game. Look at the board and find the right date for every holiday. January 1 Easter April- May New Year February 14 Thanksgiving day December 25 St. Valentine’s Day November Halloween October 31 Christmas 4.
