«Animals’ Planet» Цель: систематизация знаний учащихся по теме: “Animals”. Задачи: Практическая: – обобщить знания лексики по теме “Animals”; -развивать умения монологической речи учащихся при выполнении упражнений; -активизировать лексико-грамматический материал (множественное число существительных, глагол to be) в устной речи; Развивающая: – формировать умения и навыки речевого взаимодействия, развивать самостоятельность, логику мышления, способность осуществлять продуктивные речевые действия; Воспитательная: – воспитание положительного, уважительного и толерантного отношения к животным и окружающей среде. Тип урока: урок-обобщение. Оборудование: Интерактивная доска, ноутбуки, принтер. I. Greeting. Good morning dear students and guests! I’m glad to see you at our English lesson! Today we have an unusual lesson. I suggest you to watch a short film and then you should tell me what theme we will discuss today. (watching the film) II. Introduction of the theme. Today we’re going to talk about animals. You know, that our planet is home for a vast collection of animals. They live everywhere, from the tops of the mountains to the depth of the sea. It’s easy to think that we know exactly what animals are. But the kingdom of animals is amazingly varied. Today we will talk about different animals, their habitat, and why they are in danger. III. Introduction of the aims. At our lesson we must: - revise the lexical material on the theme; - find out why the animals are in danger; - work out some rules how to save them. IV. Actualization. Let’s begin our work. Answer my questions, please. 1. What animals do you know? 2. What are the 2 types of animals? (wild and domestic) 3. What wild animals do you know? 4. What domestic animals do you know? 5. What are the 2 classes of animals? (meat-eating and grass-eating animals) 6. What meat-eating animals do you know? 7. What grass-eating animals do you know? V. Main part. 1. Description. Your first task. Now you will see the pictures of some animals. You should describe them, say if they are wild or domestic, meat-eating or grass-eating, talk about their habitat, colour, etc. a fox a wolf an elephant a camel a cat a bear a whale a squirrel a monkey a rhino a crocodile 2. Matching. We know that some animals have compound names. Your task is to match the 2 parts and get the names of some animals. honey- ground- golden- kangaroo- tree- killer- blue- bee squirrel eagle rat snake whale whale 3. Crossword. You should work in pairs and solve the crossword. - the biggest sea animal (whale) - a big grey animal with the horn on its nose (rhino) - a small orange animal that likes nuts (squirrel) - a funny animal that lives on the tree and likes bananas (monkey) - a domestic animal with long ears that likes carrots (rabbit) - It’s not hurt if its tail breaks off (lizard) 4. Plural Form of Nouns. - How do we form the plural of nouns? We know that some nouns form it in different way. Your task is to write the plural forms of the following nouns. a wolf- a leaf- a rhino- a foot- a tooth- an ox- a goose- a sheep- 5. Cluster. You know much information about sea animals. Let’s try to make a cluster about a whale. - making a cluster And now let’s try to talk about this animal using the cluster. 6. RELAXATION. a) What can you see at the board? (Tropical forest, jungles). Close your eyes now and imagine that you are in jungles. Let’s relax and listen to the sounds of jungles. b) Question: what animals have you heard? 7. Animals are in danger. The world of animals is wonderful. But they are not safe! Let’s watch some short cartoons and say why animals are in danger. Answers. - People pollute air. - People pollute water. - People leave rubbish. - People don’t save energy. - People cut down forests. - People kill animals for fur, meat, skin, ivory tusks, horns and fat. Question. Who is the main source of danger for animals? (PEOPLE) 8. RED BOOK. Some animals are disappearing. To prevent this Red Book was created. Let’s watch a presentation made by your classmate _______ about the Red Book and rare and disappearing animals. 9. HELP US! We see that the situation is serious. But it’s not late to save them!
