Now, I can see there the pupils of different age and before we start I would like to ask the youngest ones. Here is my first question: “ Do you have friends?” P1: Yes, I have five friends. P2: I have a lot of friends. T: Who is your best one? P3: Sasha and Lena are my close friends. T: Do people need friends? P4: Yes, sure. We need them. T:But I have a familiar girl and she told me that she could live without them, that her life was possible without any friends. What do you think about it? I want to know your opinions about the problem. _ Sure, some people can live without any friends, because for some of them their parents, sisters etc. are considered to be as close friends. But there are situations when we can not devote our secrets , love problems to our dearest and nearest. Then we need friends. T: And now I want you children give me the definition of the notion “Friendship”. Complete the sentence : A friend is a person who……… P1: A friend is a person who can help me in a difficult situation. P2: Who can give me some advice whrn I need. P3: Who will never laugh and ignore me. P4: Who can lend me money. P5: Who I can wake up in the middle of the night. P6: Who can give a spark of assurance when you are in doubt. P7: Who will never criticize your way of living. P8: Who can discuss problems with you. P9: Who will always try to understand you. T: What feelings are necessary between friends? P-ls: Respect. P1: No, of course these feelings need a long period of time. P2: It’s the result of a long friendship. T: What is necessary to help friendship? P: We should take care of it and love it. T: What plant can friendship be compared? P: It can be compared to a tree. P2: Its seed should find good soil and only under good conditions it will grow into a big tree. T: and now , children I want you to listen to some poems about friendship. P1: Apology How do I tell you I'm sorry - With a gesture, a look, a touch? How is it I never realized I hurt you so very much? I do not ask forgiveness, A comfort I'll never deserve. I merely want to let you know, But I cannot find the nerve. To finally confront you, face-to-face, To look you in the eye, To face your wrath, your apathy - Too terrified to try. P2: You called me selfish, I turned away, I festered and I fled; Cutting and wounding and lashing out, Just to see if you bled. Betraying and deceiving you, I surely had no right To snatch away such a precious gem; A dark thief in the night. Four years and forever passed To bring us to this day, When I present these simple words I never thought to say. P3: The time has come, it's long past due, To put aside my fear; Would this confession torture you, Or have you longed to hear? To hear those two forbidden words, To vanquish all the pain, To understand my dearest wish: To know you once again. The years aged me remarkably, Though they have not made me wise; I do know I erred irrevocably - For that I apologize ex ourselves with fear, or hope And cares beyond our horoscope? Who into future times would peer, Looks oft beyond his term set here, And cannot go into those grounds But through a churchyard, which them bounds. Sorrows and sighs and searches spend And draw our bottom to an end, But discreet joys lengthen the lease, Without which life were a disease; And who this age a mourner goes, Doth with his tears but feed his foes. If Rudyard Kipling P1: If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too: If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can dream---and not make dreams your master; If you can think---and not make thoughts your aim, If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same:. If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools; P2: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings, And never breathe a word about your loss: If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!" If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings---nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much: If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And---which is more---you'll be a Man, my son! T: And now children I would like to present you some situations to discuss and solve. a) You are leaving school and just at this moment you hear a dialogue of some pupils saying mean things about your friend .Your reaction? b) Your friend bought new expensive jeans but they do not suit him at all. Your reaction? Pupils discuss the situations and give their solutions. ( Usually pupils present very interesting ideas.) T: Thank you for your answers. And now I would like to come to your home prepared task and it is your poems on the topic. 1) A fiend is a person We always need They come to help us They do it indeed I share my secrets And he trusts me his In all our hardships We always repeat: Respect, tolerance care and love These things forever And we will be up. ( Then this poem is welcomed to be sung in the rap style. Teachers can perform this song in their own group too.) T: The next task for you was to find proverbs on the subject. Please , you are welcome. A friend to all is a friend to none. Всем брат - никому не брат. Приятелей много, да друга нет. A friend's frown is better than a foe's smile. Недруг поддакивает, а друг спорит. A man is known by the company he keeps. С кем хлеб - соль водишь, на того и походишь. A goose is no playmate for a pig. Гусь свинье не товарищ. Men may meet but mountains never. Гора с горой не сдвинется, а человек с человеком свидится. A friend to all is a friend to none. Всем брат - никому не брат. Приятелей много, да друга нет. ( It’s welcomed to explain some proverbs .Also possible to find Kasakh equivalents to the proverbs.) Children, let’s sing a song “ Friendship”. (Tenacious ) Friendship is rare, Do you know what I'm sayin' to you? Friendship is rare. My derriere, When you find out much later That they don't really care. It's rare to me, can't you see? It's rare to me, can't you see? Oh shit there's a bear, Could you hand me that shotgun buddy, Also that chair? We're fighting a bear Now your life's in grave danger And you don't even care. It's rare to me, can't you see? It's rare to me, can't you see? It's rare to me, Say a prayer for me, 'Cause it's rare to be In Tenacious D. Friends will be friends They're running naked in the sand, Friends holding hands Will someday surely form a band, Friends will be friends They say that friends are friends To the bitter end. Thank you children for your participation in our talk show. I hope you will be good friends yourselves. It doesn’t matter how many friends you have but you should be very careful and tolerant to them. And here is my last question: Is our life possible without friends? P-ls: No!!! | |
