Home task: make a puzzle of health food 1. T: Good morning pupils! Good morning our guests! I’m very glad to see you at our lesson, which is devoted to the theme “Healthy and unhealthy food”. When you are young and growing, it is important to eat a different kind of food, which is good for you. This makes you strong and healthy. It is also important not to eat a lot of food which you don’t need or which is bad for you. I think health is the most important in our life. Not money, not work, not any problems, but health. And during our lesson we’ll try to prove it. 2. T: Look at the screen. You can see different kinds of foods. They are: body –building foods, energy food, and food contains vitamins. Your task is :to write the foods in the right columns 3. a)T: Next, look at these pictures and make up sentences using First Conditional sentences. Look at the grammar gang Pay attention of the using form: if +Present Simple ,then will + verb. Do this exercise in pairs,one of you begins the sentences with “if”, and the second finish it. b)T: Open your WB p.58 ex.2- Use your own ideas to finish these sentences. 4. T: As you know, there are many proverbs about health in the world. Now, let’s play a game “Broken proverbs”. Look at the screen and match the first part of the proverb with the second. 1.An apple a day -d a)to take care of his health 2.A good rest is -e b)is to be enjoyed 3. He wants to say something to us. Listen to him: “Hi, everobody! How healthy are you? Answer these questions and find out.” 1. Do you play sports more than twice a week? 2. Do you watch TV more than 3 hours a day? 3. Do you eat fresh fruit and vegetables more than once a day? 4. Do you eat sweets and cakes more than once a day? 5. Do you drink fizzy drinks like cola and lemonade when you are thirsty? 6. Do you drink milk, fruit juice or water when you are thirsty? 7. Do you get 8 hours sleep at night? T: Count your score. What’s your score? Jumping Jum says: from 0-7: Oh, dear. You are very unhealthy. You need a doctor. From 8-16: Not bad. You are healthy ,but you can be more healthy. From 17-21: Congratulations! You are very healthy! 5.T: Now, let’s divide into 2 groups and the rest of the lesson we’ll do in groups. T: Do you remember Uncle Bob? This is the doctor, who gives advice about health and also answers problems sent in by readers. I want that you are on his place and give their own advice of children’s problems. Here two letters, which sent by children. Read them and give some advice to solve their problems. Gr 1 Gr 2 Letter 1: I’m very worried about my weight. Often I don’t eat anything all day. Sometimes I only eat fruit. But I don’t lose weight. I’m afraid I love sweets, chocolate, biscuits. I eat at least 5 chocolate bars a day. I like to eat fried chicken. It’s delicious! Help me please! What should I do? Jane Letter 2: Dear doctor! Help me please! I feel so tired in the morning. I’m always late for school and the teacher is always cross with me. I watch a lot of TV in the evenings and always go to bed very late. I like to drink strong tea before I go to bed, then I can’t sleep. Can you help me? Billy T: I think your advice is very good and right. If the children follow this advice they won’t have such problems. They will be healthy. b) T: Sometimes, at school, at work there are unpleasant situations and we need a doctor. I’ll give you 2 situations and you reproduce them in the class. Each group listen very attentively and then answer my questions: 1) How do you brush your teeth?(2-3 times a day) 2) How do you often visit your dentist (twice a year) 3) What should you drink more in order to have strong teeth?(milk) Situation 1:After school N:Becky meets Jack after school. B: What’s the matter, Jack? J: I have a toothache! It really hurts? N: Jack is eating a chocolate bar and drinking cola. J: I like chocolate! I like cola! B: You shouldn’t eat sweets, and you shouldn’t drink cola. They are bad for your teeth! Emma:Why not drink more milk. Look! Milk is good for you! Martin: You should drink more milk. N: Jack never brushes his teeth! B:How often do you brush your teeth? J: I don’t like to brush my teeth. B: But you should brush your teeth twice a day. Let’s go to the dentist! J:I don’t like dentist E: But you should go to the dentist.Let’s go Jack. Situation2:At the dentist B:Come on Jack! This dentist is very nice! D:Hello Jack! J: Hello doctor! D:What’s the matter Jack? J: I have a terrible toothache! Can you help me? D: Sit down,Jack.Let’s look at your teeth… How often do you brush your teeth? J: I don’t like to brush my teeth! D: YOU should brush your teeth twice a day Your teeth are very bad. You should care them. J: First, you should use a good toothbrush. You should eat fruit and vegetables. You shouldn’t eat sweets. You shouldn’t drink sweet drinks If you follow my directions you’ll have good teeth. J: Thank you doctor. Good bye! D: Good bye! c) T: Now, I want you to write down the rules for good health. First group, which is called “Healthy food “ make up affirmative sentences; Second group, which is called “Unhealthy food” make up negative sentences. Gr 1 Gr 2 d) T: At home, your task was to make Power Point Presentation on the theme “Healthy and unhealthy food “Display your own posters defend your project work. Gr 1 Gr2 6.T: Today, we speak and discuss different situations about health. Certainly, I want you have a good health for your long years. But, look at the screen. Here are some things a person can do to take care of his /her health. Which two do you think are the most important? e.g. … is the most important thing you can do to take care of your health because… 8. T: And now close your eyes, relax and listen. We are sitting in a boat, a small rowing boat. Let’s row. We are rowing, rowing and rowing.Now, what’s that? It’s a bird. A big bird is flying over the water. Now it’s gone. We’re still rowing. This is hard work.Row, row, row.We’vebeen rowing for hour, now. Here’s the shore. Let’s go homenow.We is going home. We’re so tired. WE are going to the kitchen. We want to drink some fruit juice. We’ll drink! Mmm, it’s delicious! Now, we want something else. We’ll open our eyes and see an apple. Be healthy dear guests and pupils! b) T: Look at this game, the following letters can be easily turned into well-known English proverb if you insert a certain vowel several times. A is missed here.
