| Receptive Skills Plan The theme: Safe at Last The main aim: to provide practice in Reading for Gist and Details I. Warm-Up –stage aim- to establish student’s interests to predict according to the title Ex.1 p.44 – Which is the safest way of travelling? Group feedback by plane by bicycle by car by ship by train II. Pre-reading task-stage aim-give meaning to words in order to prepare to read for Gist. Vocabulary a great deal-a great number, for many times went up-to sit on caught fire-to be on a fire III. Presentation. Stage aim: practice in reading for Gist. Give students practice in reading for details. Name – Neal, a traveller. Conversation between Neal and Porter- what’s his old friend. Lives in England. Age -60. What he did –travelled all his life. On what he travelled most-aeroplane. What kind of transport he travelled also. 1. train 2. ship 3. car Travelling enjoyable or not enjoyable for him. Neals dream-safe life Neals plan-to live in London So he bought a house To grow flowers To read books Unsafe life means for Neal – at travelling Porter - everywhere His dogs name – Bonzo An accident: as soon as the door opened, the dog run under Neals feet.
