| Дидактический материал в помощь учителю по теме « DEGREES OF COMPARISON » 1. The more we study, the more we know. the more we know, the more we forget, the more we forget, the less we know, the less we know, the less we forget, the less we forget, the more we know. 2. Our family is quite a large one. There are seven of us. I am the eldest of the family. I have got two brothers and two sisters. They are much younger than me and sometimes when I look at them I begin to feel quite old. The youngest and the smallest in our family is Nelly. We, all of us, call her the baby of the family. She is only five. Then there are Bob and Peter, the twins. They are twelve and both of them are exactly as tall as each other and they are so like each other that people can hardly tell one from the other. These two boys are the noisiest boys that I know. The house is much quieter, when they are out or at school. They think of nothing but football, boxing and fighting. My sisters Mary and Nelly are the nicest girls I know. They are not as noisy as the boys. Boys are always noisier than girls. You can’t expect boys to be quite, can you ? 3. It is usually more expensive to have meals at the restaurant than at a canteen. And as a rule it takes one more time to have meals at the restaurant. But though it takes one less time to have meals at the canteen and everything is less expensive there. A lot of people prefer to go to a restaurant. They do so because as a rule food tastes better there. Every restaurant has one of several courses which are considered its best. 4. Little lion: Who am I? Mother lion: You are the strongest, the fastest, the cleverest, the best and the most beautiful of all the animals. A bee: Hello. Who are you? Little lion: I am the strongest, the fastest, the cleverest, the best and the most beautiful of all the animals…Oh… A parrot: Hello. Who are you? Little lion: I am the strongest, the fastest, the cleverest, the best and the most beautiful of all the animals…Oh… An owl: Hello. Who are you? Little lion: I am the strongest, the fastest, the cleverest, the best and the most beautiful of all the animals…Oh… An owl: Never say that you are the strongest, the fastest, the cleverest, the best and the most beautiful of all the animals. There are animals which are stronger, faster, cleverer, better and more beautiful than you. Little lion: Thank you Mr Owl.] 5. Of all the managers I've worked under, this man is much the worst. The more I have to do with him, the less I like him. He's very bad-tempered. He's the most approachable first thing in the morning, but he gets more and more difficult as the day goes on. He has a very high opinion of himself; in fact, he's not nearly so clever as he thinks he is. He wants us all to work twice as hard for the same salary. I'm afraid it's all getting too much for me to cope with. 6. Better late than never, but better never late. Say well is good, do well is better. Those do least who speak most. Two heads are better than one. Easier said than done. Better to do well than to say well. East or west home is best. 7. As white as snow. As bright as fire. As cold as ice. As strong as steel. As light as air. As thin as paper. As black as soot. As green as grass. As blue as the sky. As brave as a lion. As true as a dog. As busy as a bee. 8.
