урок по английскому языку на тему "Рождество"
| Урок по предмету «Английский язык» по теме «Christmas». Цели: Практические: ввести лексические единицы по теме «Christmas» и закрепить их в рамках отдельных ситуаций в игровой ситуативной форме, тренировка студентов в умении вести общение на английском языке в предлагаемых речевых ситуациях. Познакомить учащихся с праздничными традициями страны изучаемого языка. Развивающие: развивать речевые способности, способность логически излагать, развивать умения сравнивать, анализировать, воображать. Воспитательные: прививать у студентов интерес к изучению культуры и традиций страны изучаемого языка, пополнение знаний по страноведению. Задачи: • дать информацию о традициях празднования Рождества в Великобритании и нашей стране • развить навыки аудирования, устной речи, чтения по теме, письма • развить память, мышление, языковую догадку • развитие креативности • Активизация грамматических и лексических навыков по теме. Тип урока: комбинированный Оборудование: компьютер, интерактивная доска, мультимедийные средства, программа Memmory Specialist, презентация, карточки с заданиями, карточки с текстом песни, рождественская елка, рождественские игрушки, рождественские открытки, оформление кабинета. Procedure Warm-up. (слайд 1) Good morning everyone. I am glad to see all of you today. Could you tell me, what season is it now? Do you like winter? Why do you like winter? So, winter has come, Christmas is coming now. Tell me, please, what are we going to speak about? Aims of the lesson (Слайд 2) You are right, more than that we’ll try to find out about traditions and customs of the UK and our country connected with Christmas celebration. And as you see we have the motto: “So many countries, so many customs. If we celebrate the same holidays we are very much alike”. So, we will try to find out in which aspect we are alike. So, today at the lesson we shall learn new words referring to this theme and speak about Christmas traditions. Focus on a new lexical material (Слайд 3) Today at the lesson we shall learn new words. Repeat them after me. Look at the pictures and try to explain the meanings of these words. (Приблизительные ответы студентов: A bell is a simple sound-making device. Transcription of the words (Слайд 4) Now repeat these words after me again and try to write the transcription. One by one. We have the Christmas tree, but it isn’t decorated. Now let’s play a game “Who is better?” I have many Christmas ornaments and a lot of tasks for you. After each task I shall give these ornaments only the team that can do the task better or quicker in comparison with the rest teams. (Слайд 6) (Student’s answers. Discussion) (Слайд 7) Now you will learn some more information about Christmas, its history and traditions. You are going to listen to the text and fill in gaps with the appropriate words. Let’s check your answers. Read, please, only those sentences where you had to fill in the gaps. Who can give a short summary of this text. What conclusion can we make? Discussion. (Слайд 8) One of Christmas traditions is singing carols. We also are going to sing a Christmas song “Last Christmas”. Try to do best in order to get ornaments. Thank you! Your singing was very nice. Now it’s high time to check your home task. Your home task was to make up dialogues on the theme Christmas. Each group has its representatives. Thank you for your work! (Слайд 9-10) English families gather to have Christmas dinner. They eat traditional Christmas food. What English Christmas food do you know? (a roast turkey, goose, salads, mince pie, fruitcake ets) (Слайд 11) And what Christmas dishes of our country do you know? Students put down their answers on the smartboard (goose, chicken, salad Olivie, fish, cake). So, what conclusion can we make? (That we have many things and traditions which are alike) (Слайд 12-16) I have some riddles for you. Read them and try to guess the answers. Go to the screen and check your answers. 1) A fairy tale holiday (Christmas Day) 2) It is high, green and beautiful decorated (Christmas tree) 3) A man with red nose and a big bag. (Father Christmas) 4) It shines but it isn’t the Sun. (Candle) 5) It is white. It covers the ground and the tree. (snow) Thank you for your work! You were very active! (Слайд 17-18) Sending Christmas cards is another tradition .People send Christmas cards to their relatives and friends and wish them a Merry Christmas. On the desks you can see Christmas cards. Your task is to design them. You may use the following sentences. These Christmas cards you’ll give to your parents, friends, relatives, it’s up to you. (3 min) (On the screen) Christmas Greetings With best wishes for Christmas Wishing you a Christmas filled with love and friendship May your Christmas be filled with happy surprises Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year With warm and friendly wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year Who wants to read your Christmas card? (Слайд 19) Making the conclusion of the lesson Feedback Do you like our lesson? What have you learned? Let’s summarize what we have learned and fill the table. We should compare our country and Great Britain. Christmas Kazakhstan Great Britain When do people celebrate Christmas? What is more popular – Christmas or New Year? What do people do on this holiday? Who brings presents to children? It’s high time to decorate our Christmas tree. Meanwhile we are going to watch a video clip “Let’s go and celebrate Christmas” Home task (Слайд 20) Write down a letter to Father Christmas and tell him how Christmas is celebrated in our country.
