Nephew: ’Good morning. Merry Christmas, uncle! God save you!
Scrooge: ‘Humbug! Merry Christmas! You have no right to be merry. You are poor.’
Nephew: ’I am poor but I am a happy man because I am married to a woman whom I love’.
Scrooge: ‘Love is even sillier than a Merry Christmas.”
Nephew: ‘Uncle, we would like to invite you to have Christmas dinner together with our family’
Scrooge: ‘I don’t want to hear about it. Good bye’
Gentleman: “Good afternoon, Mr Scrooge. We are collecting money for poor people. Thousands of people are in need of simplest things, even food and clothes.
Scrooge, “ Poor people’s place are in prison and work houses. Go out!”
Gentleman: ‘But Mr Scrooge…’
Scrooge: ‘I don’t give money for charity. Go away!’
Scrooge: ‘Who are you?’
Marley: ‘I am Marley’
Scrooge, “Why do you trouble me?”
Marley, “I was very selfish when I was alive. I was only interested in money and did not care about people outside my office. Now I have no rest and no peace.”
Scrooge, “Why are you wearing this chain?”
Marley, “I wear the chain I made in life link by link. Do you know, Ebenezer Scrooge, the weight and length of the chain you wear yourself? I am here tonight to tell you that you have yet a chance and hope not to go my way. Tonight you will see Three Spirits. The first will come at one in the morning.”

Scrooge: ‘I remember this place! That is my street!
The Ghost of Christmas Past: ‘Do you remember how lonely and unhappy you were once long ago when you were a schoolboy. Do you remember your kind sister who brought you home school on Christmas Eve many years ago? You were together and had the merriest time in the world/ You sister had a large and kind heart, but she was not very strong and died soon after she had a child - your nephew’.

His wife: ‘A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the old Man!
Nephew: ‘Merry Christmas to him!’

Gentleman 1“Look, whose grave is it?”
Gentleman 2 “Oh, it’s Ebenezer Scrooge’s!”
Gentleman 1 “There are no flowers here, nobody comes to remember him!”
Gentleman 2 “No wonder, he was a bad, greedy man!”
Gentleman 1 “He doesn’t even love his only nephew!”
Scrooge, “No, Spirit! Oh, no, no! I am not the man I was. Good Spirit, I’ll start a new life! I will keep Christmas in my heart all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. I will always remember this lesson. I promise.”
Ebenezer Scrooge kept his word: the very first thing he did was to send a huge turkey to Bob Cratchit’s house. Then he put on his best clothes and got out into the street. He smiled at everyone he met.
He met the gentleman who had walked into his office the day before, asking money for the poor. Scrooge gave him a lot of money.
In the afternoon Scrooge went to his nephew’s house. And that was wonderful. He felt at home in 5 minutes. Everybody was as happy as could be.
Scrooge did it all, and much more. And to Tiny Tim, who did not die, he was a second father. He became as good a friend, as good a master, as good a man, as the good old city new.
Ghosts did not visit him anymore, and people said that he knew how to keep Christmas better than anybody else. God bless us, Everyone!
