The aims of the lesson: • Educational: to give much interesting information concerning the theme to enrich pupil’s knowledge; • Developing: to develop pupil’s speaking skills in dialog and monologue speech through the text and interesting way of works on flipcharts, to be able to use the phrase “I want” in speech; • Bringing up: to develop pupil’s abilities to work in group, be creative, to respect knowledge of other cities. The method of the lesson: group work. Type of the lesson: the new lesson, competition. Equipment: the interactive board, flipchart Active Inspire, video about the Cambridge, internet resource, cards. The procedure of the lesson. I. Organization moment: Greeting the pupils; Asking the day and date; Preparing for the lesson. II. New lesson. III. Warm up: - Watch the video film. - Answer the questions; - What do you understand from this video? - What about it? - Yes, the theme of our lesson is “Cambridge”. Our aim is to introduce with this theme and use the new words from the text in our speech with the help of phrase “I want”. And to respect the cities of learning language. - We are going to work in 3 groups, every pupil should be active, otherwise the point of group will be less than the answer. Task1: to find the underlined words and write the translation with transcriptions. Cambridge [‘keimbridЗ] Cambridge is in the east of England. It is a small city. The population is about a hundred thousand. Cambridge is an ancient city. It is famous because it has a very good university. The main industries in Cambridge are tourism and agriculture. There are also a lot of English language schools. The land near Cambridge is flat. There are no hills or mountains. The climate is warm in summer and cold in winter. And there is usually some air pollution, especially in the centre of the city. - 2nd task is to pronounce the words and write at the flipchart ancient [әn∫aint] древний agriculture ['ægrikAlt∫ә] сельское хозяйства flat [flæt] квартира especially [is’pe∫әli] особенно Cambridge [‘keimbridЗ] Кембридж IV. Revision 3rd task : Are the sentences true (t) or fals (f)? Correct false sentences. a) Cambridge in in the south of England. b) It’s an old city. c) It’s famous for it’s university. d) Cambridge is an industrial city. e) It’s near mountains. f) A lot of people visit Cambridge. g) The air in Cambridge is clean. 4th task is to make sentences with the new words using these phrases: I want me to visit Cambridge. …. You … Him … Her … It … Us … Them ( every pupil of every group should make sentences with the new words) V. Conclusion Giving the marks Giving the home task ( to retell the text Cambridge in English) Evaluating list 1.
