Date: Theme: Jobs. Aims: - Acquaintance of student with new vocabulary? Training in the recognition and use new vocabulary; - To develop students’ communication skills; to develop students’ skills to analyze and make decisions; - Upbringing activity in solving communication problems; formation of respect for other people’s language. Type of the lesson: lesson of learning new material. Equipment: presentation, computer, flipcharts, markers, stickers, flash cards, interactive board. Procedure of the lesson: I. Organization moment. - Good morning, children! Nice to meet you! Sit down, please! Who is on duty today? What’s date is it today? Who is absent? - As usual begin our lesson with viewing a positive video. - And now I’ll divide you into 3 groups according to the names of colours: green, red, blue. II. Phonetic drill. - Let’s start our lesson with a poem If you want to be in a good mood You don’t go by car, go on foot If you want to go far away You don’t go by car, you go by plane. - Now I’ll close one line by one, and you’ll reproduce the whole poem. III. Evocation. 1. Riddle. - at the board, I have prepared for you a riddle, guess it you’ll learn our lesson topic. - It’s right. The theme of our lesson is “Jobs” - Very soon you’ll finish school. I’m sure that some of you have already chosen a future profession. The choice is very difficult. A good choice is good future. 2. Fill a table: I know – want to know – learned. - I give you a table? You need to fill it. 3. Brainstorming: - What do you want to be in future? - What professions are popular in our region? - Is it necessary to study well to get a good job? - How do you think, what kind of job is the most important? 4. Cluster - Now each group will make cluster about jobs. The first group will make cluster – kinds of jobs, the second group – traits of character needed to become a professional, and the third – necessary thing for job. IV. Realization of the meaning 1. Work with book. - Let’s do exercise 1 on page 80. Match the pictures with sentences. 2. Work in groups. - In group choose one of the professions and say which skills and abilities are needed to be successful in it. 3. Work with text. - Now, we’ll read text on page 84 exercise 6. 4. Answer questions - In which country are teachers well-paid? - Where dustman earns more money than an army general in India? - What profession in China is the worst-paid? 5. Work with table. - Ex 7 p 85. Make three lists on a piece of paper. Which of the following jobs are well-paid? Which ones are low-paid? Which one earns average wages? V. Reflection 1. Ending - So, our lesson is going to the end. - What did we do at our lesson? - What did you like best? 2. Fill the table - Let’s fill the last column in the table (some pupils read table) VI. Assessment - Students oral assess lesson - Children assess each other’s works on sheets. VII. Home task. - Your home task will be ex 8, 10 p 85. VIII. Stickers. - On stickers students write what they liked the most and what they disliked. | |
