To enrich the pupils’ knowledge giving them more information about Astana 2. To develop pupils’ creative thinking and skills in oral speech 3. To bring up pupils to be patriots of their Motherland, to love their country Visual Aids: an interactive board, computers, slides The procedure of the lesson I. Organization stage Greeting Teacher calls children to stand around and then she asked them to say some compliments T: Hello, boys and girls! Take your seats, please! Good morning, dear guests! Welcome! We are very glad to see you. Please show me how is your mood? (pupils show smiles) Warm - up I like to read I like to play I like to study every day. I like to jump I like to run. I like to play, it is fun. (after the phonetic drill teacher read the text and children guess the name of the city.) This city is very beautiful. It has many high buildings, and tourists go there to see this city. And this city is our capital. Can you guess? (pupils say that it is Astana) II Main part A ) Today we shall speak about our new capital, about Astana. We shall listen to the text about the history of our capital, and speak on this topic. And now look at the blackboard Write on the blackboard the words associated with the word “Astana” Astana T: Thank you very much. You have worked well. And we ‘ll do another task cool Speaking (each group speak about sightseeing of Astana, children show presentation to each theme) Teacher divided the class into 4 groups: 1st group speak about Baiterek 2nd group speak about Khan-Shatyr 3rd group speak about Duman centre 4th group speak about Akhorda (after speaking each group ask questions to another group, they try to answer them) C ) Rest time (On the blackboard video with song “If you happy”) D )Grammar revision Now imagine that you have been in Astana. Which grammar do you use? Present perfect. Right. Children write some sentences in this grammar. Мен Астанаға барып қайттым. Менің анам жаңа ғана торт пісірді. Біздің сынып кинотеатрға барды. Президент Акорданы ашты. (Pupils try to translate these sentences) E) Individual work of children Now children I gave at previous lesson to learn by heart the rhyme about Astana (children tell all rhymes) III Feedback: Teacher gives them crosswords about Astana 1. AKHORDA 2. NURSULTAN 3. BAITEREK 4. AKMOLA 5. DUMAN 6. ALMATY 1) The famous building of Astana (Akhorda) 2) The name of our president (Nursultan) 3) The symbol of our capital (Baiterek) 4) The previous name of our capital (Akmola) 5) The place where you can spend your time very good. (Duman) 6) The first capital of our country (Almaty) F) Putting marks Chidren put marks to each other with smiles IV. Hometask Topic “Astana” V. Conclusion T: Our lesson is coming to the end. What have you learnt today? Express your opinion.(children put smiles on the blackboard) We have done a lot of work at our lesson. You were very active. I’m pleased with you. Good luck to you.
