| The intellectual show “The leader of the XXI century” Grade: 9-11 The aims of the game: a) to enrich students’ knowledge of foreign languages, to show the importance of being well –educated and having the wide score; b) to develop students’ intellect, speech habits through speaking , listening and writing in three languages; c) to improve students’ thinking and bring up the culture of communication and the need in practical use of languages. Leader: Good afternoon, dear teachers, guests and students! You are welcome to our intellectual game “The leader of the XXI century”. We are glad to see you and hope that you will enjoy today’s game. The game consists of 5 stages. I. ”Baiga” II. ”Polyglot” III. ”Missing words” IV. ”Croos out” V. ”Clever forever” Leader: We think that the game will be interesting and useful for you. We wish everybody good luck. I am glad to introduce the participants of our intellectual game; and this is our jury who will helps to choose the best of the best. Participants, introduce themselves. Let’s start with the first round which is called “Baiga”. 1.What is the official name of the residence of Queen Elizabeth II? (Buckingham Palace). 2.What is “Big Ben”? ( a clock tower) 3. What is name of the town where William Shakespeare was born? (Stratford –on –Avon) 4. How many stars are there on the American flag? (51) 5. What is the population of Kazakhstan? (17,474) 6. What holiday is celebrated on the 1st of May in Kazakhstan? (Nationalities’ Day of Kazakhstan people) 7. When do Americans celebrate Independence Day? (July, 4) 8. Who is the forty forth president of the USA? (Barak Obama) 9. What is the symbol of Almaty city?
