1.Strategy “Brainstorm” Work in groups
Task 1 – Teacher puts the four columns on the board and gives the same tales each group. Asks pupils to think of as many words as they can have connected to each season. This task as a team activity and award points to teams who have original words that no other team got.

Text. Seasons and Weather in Kazakhstan
Everyone knows that there are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Each of them lasts 3 months.

December, January and February are winter months. The weather is cold. It is getting colder day by day. The winter is the coldest season in the year. It usually snows. Everything looks so pretty covered with snow. The days are short and the nights are long. The rivers and lakes freeze and we can go skating and skiing.

March, April and May are spring months. Spring is a nice season. The weather is warm. It often rains in spring, especially in April.
The days are longer than in winter There are many green trees in the streets and in the parks. The sun shines brightly. The birds sing songs everywhere.

Summer is the hottest season in the year. June, July and August are summer months. The sky is blue. The days are long and the nights are short. There are many flowers in the parks and gardens. There are many berries in the forests. Summer brings fruits and vegetables. It is pleasant to spend this season by the seaside or somewhere in the country.

September, October and November are autumn months. The weather is cool. It often rains. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The birds prepare to fly to the South. You can see yellow, red and brown leaves on the trees. It is the season of harvesting.
So in every season there are bright and dark sides. But we must be thankful together whatever the weather.

Individual work
1)Read the text quickly and find in the text and pronounce them
1. Names of colours;
2. Names of plants;
3. What do the birds do everywhere and when?
-Look at the blackboard and check yourself

2)Read the text again and match the titles with the paragraphs. Write the letters in the boxes near paragraphs. There is one title you won’t use.

3)Decide true or false:
Activities: Fast Answer Race
This simple classroom activity involves two groups of pupils racing each other to correctly answer true or false. At first one of the pupils of the groups run to the blackboard and touch the sheet of paper. If It is false, the pupils must say correct answer.

Summer brings fruits and vegetables.
In autumn the days are becoming shorter, the sun loses its force.
The spring is the season of harvesting.

7)Make up a short summary about the weather of Kazakhstan using the words from the previous exercises.
