Class: 4G Date: 11.12.2018 Language focus: Adverbs of Frequency New words: often, sometimes, never, always, usually Visual aids: Power Point presentation, cards SMART AIM: practice saying adverbs of frequency to indicate how often they do certain activities; learn to use the information from the text by doing tasks. 1. Organization moment Greeting 2. Warm –up How are you today? 3. Introducing Adverbs of frequency. (Presentation PP) P1 reads to the class grammar rules about adverbs of frequency, when we use them, position of adverbs in the sentences, etc. Prepare cards with per cent : 0% , 30% ,60%, 80% , 100% . Put the card “0%” at “never” on the board. Say “I never go shopping with friends on Saturdays”. Give the rest of the cards to different students and ask them, one-by-one, to come to the board and place them where they think they would go on the chart. 4. Write always, usually, often, sometimes, never in mixed order on the board. Then draw five steps and write never over the bottom one. Ask students to put the remaining adverbs in order of frequency. 5. Students listen to the teacher and repeat 6. Read them individually 7. Unscramble the words. 8. Put the words in alphabetical order 9. Look at the blackboard, make up the sentences using the given words and word combinations. 10. Stretch • Teacher gives the students the words • Students have to put the words in the correct order. 11. Reading • Read the text (5 minutes) • True or false • Answer the questions • How often does Emma … (Make up the questions and answer to them). 12. Writing • Put the sentences in the correct order 6.
