Teacher: Good morning, dear guests! You have already known a lot about Great Britain and its people, but some things are easily forgotten. Let us brush up our knowledge of this country. So, the motto of our lesson is “He who has never seen Scotland Wales England Northern Ireland does not really know The United Kingdom Activity № 1 Teacher: Look at the map of the UK. As you know the UK is situated in the north – west coast of Europe and it consists of 4 parts: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. As we said before each country has its separate national identities. Each country has its own flag, flower-symbol and places of interests,famous people. Choose the country you will speak . you will work in groups. Come to the table.On the table You see flags ,flower-symbols and some pictures .they are in a mess. Choose identities. according to your chosen country.Pin the flower-symbols to your clothes and go to you place.Now! you are the Englishmen In your groups you will have the leader Who will ask you About your country but he will be the guest from the other countries :China, Japan Africa and Germany. The following task will be to take the masks and make up dialogues in a few words about the national flags , symbols , main sights and famous people of these 4 countries. . Work in groups • How does the national flag look like? • What is the flower-symbol of the country? • What famous people of the country do you know? • What famous sights of the country do you know? • Where is the country situated? Lets listen to your dialogues ,go to the blackboard Activity № 2 You have spoken about the symbols and identities. Do You want to know something else? Do you like to travel? I want you to travel a bit. I advise you to visit your neighbour country. On your place in front of you there are coloured cards. Those Who have Yellow cards will visit Wales, green cards -will go to Scotland, pink cards will visit England, red cards-will visit Northern Ireland. Change your place according to the colour of your card. I wish you good travelling. Try to learn something new about the country you will visit and be ready to Speak about the United Kingdom.
