Урок английского языка по УМК издательства Cambridge, Messages2. Учитель Евдокимова И.Э. ШГ №14, Астана The theme: I’m usually late! Food and drink. Goal: To teach children about food and drink, and about eating habits. Language learning objectives: - Educational: studying the verb to have; giving students the opportunity to share ideas, knowledge; - Developing: improving listening, reading and speaking skills; - Bringing up: improving thinking, mental abilities. Type of the lesson: lesson of using knowledge and skills. Method: practical, oral, partly searched Materials: pictures, dictionary, teachers prepared worksheets, CD. 1. Organization moment. Tasks of the lesson. 2. Key vocabulary. a) T.: Children, look at the pictures and say “How many words do you know?” b) Listen and say the words. Pay the attention to the pronunciation of the next words: juice , yoghurt , sausages , fruit . c) What about you? Make true sentences about things you eat and drink. Exam. I like salad but I don’t like vegetables. I never eat yoghurt. 3. Key pronunciation. Vowel sounds. Ex. 2 p.60 T. explain the meaning of breakfast and dinner. a) The pupils listen to the rhythm drill, then join in. b) Find “food” words in the drill with the same vowel sounds as these words. Big (milk, chicken, fish) Go (toast) See ( tea, cheese) Ten (eggs, bread) You (juice, fruit) Bat ( salad, pasta) then listen and check. 4. Warm up. Try this! How many “food and drink” words can you make using these letters? TBOMRUCHNEASIFDSLKG (all these letters are on the board) ( Words from the unit: meat, chicken, ham, steak, fish, bread, fruit, orange, milk, tea, lunch, snack. Some other words: lamb, bacon, salmon, tuna, salt, sugar, flour, rice, corn, beans, garlic, herbs, mint, melon, lime, cola, cream.) 5. Reading and listening. A survey about food. T.: Look at the photo. Answer the question. Where is Joe? ( At the café) Which meals do they talk about? (breakfast, lunch and dinner.) T.: Close your books and listen to the conversation. Open the books and read through the dialogue. Try to remember what the missing words are before you listen again. Listen again. Complete the “food” words in the conversation. Read one by one. ( answers: 1. toast 2. fruit juice 3. cereal 4. sandwiches 5. pizza 6. burger 7. meat 8. pasta 9. meat 10. vegetables 11. fish 12. crisps 13. steak) 6. Reading. Tamiko’s report. a) Read the report to check your answers to 3b; b) Draw attention to the use of has with a third person singular subject ( he\ she\ it). 7. Speaking. A) Two students to read out the example question and answer. In pairs, students ask and answer. 8. Writing. Food in my country.
