The theme: Holidays. The aims of the lesson: 1. To enrich the pupils’ knowledge concerning the theme, to give the information about holidays, to introduce new words, to show pupils the film. 2. to develop the pupils’ oral speech pronunciation, to develop pupils’ reading and speaking skills. 3. to develop the pupils’ interest to the lesson and To bring up the feeling of love to foreign country’s culture. 4. to develop pupils’ knowledge in Grammar of Present Simple. Visual aids: interactive board, video, slides, book “English - 6”. Interactive link: Geography, Gymnastics, History, Music. The type: mixed lesson Location of the lesson: class room. Level of class: beginner. Time: one class period. Procedure of the lesson. I Organization moment. T: - Good morning, children. S: - Good morning, the teacher! T: - I’m glad to see you. S: - We are glad to see you, too! T: - Who is on duty today? S: - I am on duty today! T: - Who is absent? S: - All are present today. ( …. is (are) absent today). II. Phonetic drill. Now children let’s begin our lesson. T: - What date is it today? S: - Today is the 26th of January. T: - What day of the week is it today? S: - It is Thursday. Everyone open your exercise-books and write down the date and the day. III. Motivation. T: At the previous lesson we introduce with the theme: “Holidays”. As we know, there are many holidays in Britain. All of them are very interesting. Today we shall speak about the Bonfire Night, but before speaking of this theme, let’s introduce with new words. IV. T: Now let’s read the text. It is on the page number 110. The title of the text is “Bonfire Night”. Let’s read them and translate only misunderstand sentences. VI. Speaking. T. So, now let’s speak about Bonfire Night. I show you pictures. And you need speculate what about it. Let’s start! (The teacher shows slides with pictures and students share their opinions what about them. For example, on the first slide students see the picture of firework and the sighs “Bonfire Night” and “November, 5th”. Students answers may be: “The bonfire Night is celebrated on November 5th.” and so on.) VII. Visualization. T: And now, let’s watch a shot film about this holiday. This film is a story of holiday building. I wish you nice viewing! (The teacher shows the video “The story of Bonfire Night.” The video is historical imagination of this holiday.) VIII. Discussion the video. T: And now, I want to know, do you understand the given information. To control it, let’s do exercise 6 at page 111. IX. Writing. T: So, open, please your books at page number 111 and let’s do ex. 7A. The task is to write the words in the right column. So, let’s begin! T: We are tired to sit at one place, therefore I propose you to relax. Let’s sing a song and dance! Which finger did it bite? This little finger on the right. XI. Grammar. T: Today we shall revise the Present Simple Tense. So, what is the present Simple? S: Present Simple Tense means regular actions, such as going to school or eating. T: That’s right. And now let’s control our knowledge in grammar. XII. Work with cards. The teacher gives to children cards with this task: Find mistakes: 1) On November the 5th children makes bonfires. 2) They have fireworks. 3) Some days before Bonfire Night they makes the guy. 4) Then they dress them. 5) At the end children or their parents puts the guy on the bonfire. The teacher control knowledge by group poll. Right answers: 1) Not makes – make 2) There is no mistake. 3) Not makes – make 4) There is no mistake. 5) Not Puts – put. XIII. Setting the home task. T: Open, please your diaries, write down the home task. It is exercises 10 and 11 on page number 112. The task is to write about student’s favorite holiday and about one holiday in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Do you have any questions concerning the home task? XIV. Summing the lesson up.
