«How is the weather in...?»
| I. Opening Remarks: Good morning! Sit down, please! What date is it today? What day is it today? What season is it now? Do you like spring? Ok! Today at the lesson we’ll revise all our new words, make up dialogues, play a game and sing a song about the weather. Now, let’s begin our lesson. II. Phonetic drill: Let’s revise the words from the previous lesson. Look at the board and repeat after the author. windy [`windi] rainy [reini] sunny [sАni] snowy [snәui] cloudy [klAudi] hot [hot] cold [kәuld] warm [wo:m] wet [`wet] dry [drAi] III. Checking up their home-task. Learn the new words and the song about the weather IV. Work on grammar and vocabulary. a) Pair work.. Answer the questions using the new words. -What is the weather like today? -It's warm and sunny b) Look at the pictures and give the answers. .-Is it snowy? -Is it rainy? -Is it sunny? -Is it snowy? -Yes, it is. No, it isn't. -How is the weather in this picture? -It's .... V. Look at the chart and talk about the weather in the world. Make up a short dialogue -Hello! -Hi! -How are you? -I'm fine thanks. And you? -I'm well. What is the weather like today in London? -It's rainy. -What's the temperature? -It's 8 degrees below zero. -What is the weather like today in new York? -It's sunny. -Have a nice day! Good bye! -Bye- bye! VI. Consolidation work .Work on the topical vocabulary, the verbs "to like","to be" and "can" Group work. a) Look at the active board and complete the sentences. -It is ... .
