Number of Students: 29 Instructional Objectives:(statements of expected learner outcomes) Students will be able to: * explain what the Molar mass mean * name the unit of the Molar mass * use the Ideal gas equation * measure the mass and volume using electronic balance and measuring cylinder Assessment of each objective Formative assessment – answer the questions: * What does “Molar mass” mean? * What is the unit to measure Molar mass? * Ideal Gas Equation: ____________ * Why do we need to use IGE for gases? * What the value for R (the gas constant)? * In the worksheet you are given Air density? Why density? Connection to standards: IB DP Chemistry 1-4-7. Solve problems using the ideal gas equation, PV = nRT. Procedures/Activities: (include direct, guided, and independent activities) * Engaging: example of Avogadro constant = the number of 200 cm3 beakers of all water on the Earth * Introduction to the task: how to use the Ideal gas equation to determine the Molar gas of lab gas * Practical work: remind about safety rules.
